ABOUT THE CITIZENS' DOG PARK COMMITTEE

    The Citizens' Dog Park Committee was formed in 2016 and provides numerous benefits to the Town.

COMMUNITY BENEFIT:

    • Promotes good canine physical health and socialization;
    • Opportunities to maintain social skills;
    • Fun for pet parents;
      • Accommodates senior citizens and the disabled, who cannot always walk their dog on a leash;
      • Encourages people to exercise and stimulate social interaction with other people;
    • Allows for all dogs to get proper exercise;
    • Promotes responsible dog ownership;
    • Make a better community by promoting public health and safety;
    • Well-exercised dogs are better neighbors who are less likely to create a nuisance, bark excessively
    • Encourages compliance with local leash laws and reduces the number of dogs likely to end up in shelters
    • Discourages delinquent and criminal activity in parks
    • Build tourism and growth for our community;
      • A dog park will entice visitors traveling along Grand Avenue with their pets
      • Surrounding communities may use our park, go to lunch at a local restaurant, or shop in our business district.

The Committee meets every Third Saturday of the month.

In accordance with the Arizona Open Meeting Laws, the Citizens' Dog Park Committee Agendas, Minutes and Summary Actions are accessible from this page (see link below).

For the convenience of those who do not have access to the internet and in compliance with the Arizona Open Meeting Law, Committee Agendas are posted no later than twenty-four (24) hours prior to the meeting at the following locations:

1. Posting Board outside on the east side of Town Hall - 12030 North Clubhouse Square.

2. Posting Board outside on the north side of the Clubhouse - 12033 North Clubhouse Square.

3. Posting Board outside on the east side of the restrooms at Maricopa Lake Park - 114th and Connecticut Avenues.

4. Posting Board outside on the north side of the restrooms at David C. Uribe Park - North of Olive Avenue on Agua Fria Parkway.
